Who are Green
Heroes?
Green Heroes is an Australian conservation organisation dedicated to protecting natural marine ecosystems through community action, hands-on volunteering, and environmental education.
We work alongside Green Heroes at Cook Island Marine Reserve one of the most biodiverse stretches of ocean on Australia's east coast. Together we're helping to protect its sea turtle population, reef ecosystems, and the incredible marine life that calls this place home.

YOUR ROLE ON TOUR?
What you’ll actually be
doing
As a volunteer guide you'll be a real part of the team in the water with guests, helping deliver tours that people remember for the rest of their lives.
Sea turtle monitoring
Help track and record sea turtle activity at Cook Island contributing to real population data used to support ongoing conservation efforts.
Community education
Help deliver awareness programs for local schools and community groups spreading the message about why Cook Island and its marine life deserve protection.
Reef health assessments
Assist with underwater reef surveys and environmental monitoring getting in the water and making a direct contribution to the health of the reserve..
Data collection & research
Support marine scientists and researchers with field data collection meaningful work that feeds directly into conservation policy and planning.
Ocean clean-up activities
Join marine debris removal and ocean clean-up initiatives around Cook Island and the surrounding coastline.
Marine awareness advocacy
Be part of a growing community of ocean advocates helping raise awareness about responsible wildlife tourism and marine conservation across the region.
