The HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support course equips participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to respond to life-threatening emergencies and provide immediate care until medical assistance arrives.
This nationally recognised course focuses on recognising and responding to emergency situations and providing basic first aid support in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This course is suitable for workplaces, community groups, outdoor activity leaders, tourism operators, sports coaches, parents, and anyone wanting the confidence to act in an emergency situation.

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are approx times.
Cpr - 2-4 Hours

During their independent study, students are supported by the use of study materials and knowledge reviews.

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

Demonstrate use of an AED
Respond to simulated emergency scenarios
Complete knowledge-based questions
